So, why are microscopes such a huge benefit to root canal treatment? They allow our
Batavia endodontist to get a look inside your effected tooth in stark detail that was never before possible. Old style root canal equipment simply could not provide the extreme magnification of the area that is being worked on. Now, microscopic root canals show vivid details that make the procedure more precise than ever before. Vital nerve and bone tissue can be preserved while the underlying infection and inflammation are addressed. This greatly increases the odds of a successful outcome to a procedure that already boasts a success rate of at least 90%.
During a root canal treatment, our
Batavia endodontist will drill away the top of the tooth in question to gain access to the root area. Once there, the infected pulp along with the root will be removed. Any debris will be cleaned out and then the area will be sealed. When multiple sessions are required, a temporary crown will be placed over the tooth to protect it until the treatment can be continued. Upon completion, a permanent crown will be fashioned from an impression, fitted, and then cemented into place. Root canal is usually the final opportunity to save your natural tooth from being extracted.
Our
Batavia endodontist is committed to always providing you with the utmost in quality care, augmented by the latest devices and equipment to make your procedure as safe, effective, and painless as is possible. To that end, microscopic root canals represent a giant leap forward in non-surgical endodontic treatment, or what we more typically call a root canal. Keep our contact information handy for when you’re feeling the pain that may indicate a root canal problem.
