Root canal in Batavia
Do you have a painful tooth that is adjacent to an inflamed gum? Have you been told by your dentist that you will need to have a root canal procedure performed? If you are in need of a root canal procedure being done, we strongly suggest that you come to our practice which specializes in endodontics. Endodontics is a field of dentistry that specializes in root canals and other tooth saving procedures. When you need a root canal in Batavia it makes good sense to come to our practice where our dentist performs root canals every day.
Our practice is Linda Ricks, DDS, MS, PC. Our endodontist is Dr. Linda Ricks. She has been providing the highest quality of endodontic care to members of our Naperville community for over 15 years. When you need a root canal in Batavia it means that you need a root canal procedure to save the life of your tooth. Root canals are performed when a tooth is infected, and the infection needs to be cleaned out. If this is not done the infection will only get worse and the tooth will eventually fall out or need to be pulled. Still even more troublesome, the root canal infection may spread if left untreated. This infection can cause additional tooth loss, or can even spread to other parts of your body.
When you come to our practices for a root canal in Batavia you will be able to have the treatment done with local anesthesia. You will remain perfectly comfortable during this procedure. However, if you are anxious about the procedure we also offer the option of nitrous oxide gas, also known as “laughing gas,” during treatment. During the root canal our dentist will remove the infected pulp from the inside of the tooth, completely clean out the tooth, and reseal the tooth. A temporary cap may be placed over the tooth which will need to be replaced by a permanent cap. This will be done by your dentist at a later date. There are times when a root canal does not completely take care of the original problem, at which point we will need to perform a root canal retreatment. Our doctor may also perform an apicoectomy to remove infection from the root tip and the surrounding tissue after root canal therapy. If you would like to meet with our doctor for a consultation, contact our practice today.
